When should I replace my rubber tracks?

Excavators can be divided into the track roller excavator and the bucket wheel excavator according to the walking mode. The two types of excavators have their own advantages in different working conditions. And the track link excavator is what we often see. Because of the super adaptability and driving power of the track, the excavator can play an important role in all kinds of working conditions. However, we often encounter track fracture, damage and other conditions. It is easy to cause danger in construction to replace the track only after the track is broken. Then why tracks are easy to break? When we should replace the track? Here we give the referential answers.

 

 

The reason why the track is easy to break

1. Move for a long time. Bucket chain excavators can't drive for too long on the road like a car, so the operator should pay special attention to it. Track chain excavators can't walk for too long, which will not only cause great damage to the crawler, but also affect the service life of the equipment.

 

2. The excavator parking is not reasonable. Crawler excavator must be stopped in a flat place. If the track is uneven, it will cause uneven stress on the rubber track undercarriage, and the track on one side bears a large weight, which is easy to be broken or cracked due to stress concentration.

 

3. Driving on uneven road. When excavators carry out earthwork engineering, the working site is generally uneven. In such terrain conditions, if the crawler excavator walks improperly, the weight of the body will tend to the local part, and the local pressure will become larger, which will cause certain damage to the local part of the crawler, and the problem of loosening will appear.

 

4. The gravel in the track is not cleaned in time. When the carrier roller excavator is working or moving, there will be some gravel or soil into the crawler. If it is removed in time at the front of the walking, the gravel will be squeezed between the driving wheel, the guide wheel and the crawler with the rotation of the belt. After a long time, the crawler of the excavator will be loose, and the track chain link will be broken.

 

5. Improper operation when turning. When the excavator is turning, one side of the track moves, and the other side of the track doesn't move. If the track is blocked by the raised part on the ground, it will get stuck to the track on the rotating side, and the track is easy to be pulled.

Signs to pay attention to

If the following signs appear, we recommend you to replace the track as soon as possible in case the track breaks.

 

Cracks appear. Over time, the exterior of the rubber track will age and begin to crack. When working on rugged terrain, scraping on walls and curbs, or the machine is operating in some way, cracks will appear quickly.

 

Lose tension. Like any steel or rubber product, the rails will extend over time. You should check the tension of your rails every day or at least every few days. By lifting the track frame off the ground and checking the sag between the bottom rubber track roller and the top of the track lug, you will notice that there is insufficient tension on the track. If the tension continues to relax, allowing the track to jump off the chassis, do not over compensate by tightening beyond the rubber track undercarriage manufacturer's recommended tightening.

 

The sprocket jumps over the lug. The sprocket meshing with the track is the same as the two gears. If the track is loose or the sprocket is worn, they will not mesh stably and easily jump off, leading to derailment.

 

The lifting lug is missing. If the track is stuck in the chassis by large debris or the severely worn sprocket is constantly sliding and damaged, the lifting lug may extend.
